1979 Pittsburgh Steelers Championship Ring

Steelers 1979 Championship Ring (NFL)

Super Bowl XIV Logo

For this, Pittsburgh's record fourth Super Bowl victory, which came against the Los Angeles Rams at the Rose Bowl, the Steelers decided on a smaller 25 pennyweight ring with a more understated design. They chose a simpler design in order to highlight four half-carat diamonds. Surrounding the diamonds, the raised lettering on the top of each ring reads, "World Champions 1979, Pittsburgh."

One shank of the ring features the words "Super Bowl XIV" and the game score, "31-19." The other shank has the word "Steelers" and each individual player's name and jersey number.

The yellow gold rings also feature a unique hand-Florentined finish, each ring requiring three to four hours of hand work with a special tool. The ring was designed by Josten's.
