WWE Hardcore Championship

Contested from late 1998 to late 2002, the title belt was at first an old, broken-up world title belt (from the late 80s, early 90s version) and then in late 2002 was something all-new. It was highly contested in no-DQ, anything-goes matches. In early 2000, then-champion Crash Holly instituted the "24/7 Rule," which made the title up-for-grabs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The title really went downhill after that, with only brief flashes of importance. The belt was pretty much worthless right up unto the point that it was eliminated alltogether. Good riddance.

24 On the 19-Aug-2002 episode of RAW, GM Eric Bischoff declared that the 24/7 Rule would end that night. In a match like that at WrestleMania XVI, there was a hardcore battle royal. There could be as many title changes as possible, but whomever was champion at the end of six minutes would be the new champion.
25 On the 26-Aug-2002 episode of RAW, a hardcore match was held between Tommy Dreamer and Rob Van Dam to unify the Intercontinental and Hardcore Championships. Whichever man won the match would be the IC Champion and the Hardcore Championship would become extinct. Needless to say, Van Dam won the match and the Hardcore Title was abandoned.
