NWA/WCW World Tag Team Championship

Formerly the NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Championship, the title became referred to as the WCW World Tag Team Championship in the waning months of 1990. The title was later absorbed into the WWF World Tag Team Championship in Nov-2001.

Notes

Won the titles in a ficticious tournament. Some sources say Wahoo McDaniel and Paul Jones won the titles in 1975, and then the Andersons won them back again, but who knows? These early title changes are up to some speculation.
Flair/Valentine were stripped sometime in April-1978 (15-Apr assumed), and a tournament was held. Paul Jones and Ricky Steamboat defeated Masked Superstar and Ken Patera in the final of a 10-team tournament.
Titles were vacated in December after Gene was injured in October. 15-Dec assumed.
Defeated Jerry and Jack Brisco in the Eastern Division of tourney; awarded the titles by forfeit when the Western Division winers Wahoo McDaniel and Don Muraco split.
Were awarded the titles, but supposedly beat Giant Baba/Antonio Inoki in a tournament.
Vacated when Steamboat announced his retirement.
Defeated Dory Funk, Jr. and Jimmy Valiant in a tournament final.
Krusher Khrushchev joins the team, and all three men defend the titles in different combinations.
For a time, Ivan Koloff substitutes for an injured Rick Rude.
Said to have defeated Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez. Match possibly ficticious.
Stripped after Varsity Club attacked special referee Nikita Koloff.
Defeated Midnight Express in an 8-team tournament final.
Had already lost the belts to the Steiners at a TV taping before winning them from Doom.
Match aired on 09-Mar-1991.
Vacated on 18-Jul-1991 when Scott is injured.
Defeated Rick Steiner and Bill Kazmier in an 8-team tournament final.
On 12-Jul-1992, defeated Barry Windham/Dustin Rhodes to win the revived NWA Tag Team Titles. The two tag team championships are unified.
Defeated Austin and Lord Steven Regal (who subbed for an injured Pillman). NWA ceases to exist, and the NWA portion is split off and dies, until the new NWA holds a tourney in 1995.
Defeated a triangle match with Sting/Luger and Steiner Brothers.
The Steiners defeated Hall/Nash on 26-Jan-1997, in Cedar Rapids, IA, but are forced to return the titles by WCW VP Eric Bischoff, who is a member of the nWo with Hall/Nash. The Giant and Lex Luger also defeat Hall/Nash on 23-Feb-1997, in San Francisco, CA, but are also forced to return the titles.
The Steiners defeated Hall and Syxx, who subbed for the injured Nash.
Title vacated on 04-Jun-1998 when Giant/Sting break up. Giant puts the belts on the line with Brian Adams as his partner against Lex Luger and Diamond Dallas Page on that day. Page pinned Adams to pin the match, but WCW Chairman JJ Dillon said that Sting and Giant will face each other in a singles match, and the winner will pick a partner to be champions with.
Sting won the titles on his own, and the next night in Uniondale, NY on Nitro, he picked Nash as his partner.
Defeated Giant and Scott Steiner (who subbed for Hall). The next night, Bagwell turns on Rick, then Rick chooses Kaos as his new partner on 26-Oct-1998, then Judy Bagwell on 09-Nov-1998.
Vacated due to Steiner's injury. On Thunder they announced that the titles were vacant since they weren't defended in 30 days.
Defeated Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko in a tournament final.
Defeated Mysterio/Kidman and Benoit/Malenko in a three-way match.
Defeated Saturn and Kanyon, who subbed for the injured Raven.
After the controversial Saturn/Benoit win, the titles were returned to the group of DDP/Bigwlow/Kanyon.
Defeated Bigelow/Kanyon.
Titles were vacated and Harlem Heat defeated Billy Kidman/Konnan and Brian Knobs/Mugh Morrus.
Vacated due to Hall's knee surgery.
Defeated Kevin Nash/Scott Steiner in a tournament final.
Declared vacant by WCW executives Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo.
Defeated Ric Flair and Lex Luger in a tournament final.
Defeated Shane Douglas and Wall, who subbed for suspended Bagwell.
Vacated when Juventud puts the title up as collateral against ERnest Miller's WCW Commissionership and loses.
Defeated Guerrera/Mysterio, Young Dragons, Harris Boys, Three Count, and MIA in a battle royal.
Defeated Alex Wright and Elix Skipper.
Nash pinned Stasiak, who was not the legal person in the ring.
Titles were returned to them because of the controversial ending.
Match aired on 09-Aug-2001.
Match aired on 27-Sep-2001.
Match aired on 25-Oct-2001. At the 2001 Survivor Series on 18-Nov, the Dudley Boyz defeated the Hardy Boyz for the WWF Tag Team Championship, unifying the two titles.
