World Heavyweight Championship

Created in 2002 to be the world title for the Raw brand. While a minorly-modified version of the old WCW world belt, WWE sources have been somewhat ambiguous as to the nature of the title. Some articles describe it as a title that was created, while some refer to it as a resurrection. Draw your own conclusions. In late June 2005, the title became part of the SmackDown! brand due to the draft lottery.
