|---|---|---|---|
| Tyson Tomko w/Trish Stratus |
def. | Val Venis | via Pinfall (2:52) |
| Notes: Nidia came out to try and keep Trish in check, but Tyson didn't need her help anyway. After the match, Tomko tried going after Nidia, but Maven saved the day. | |||
| Match #1 | |||
| Tajiri & Rhyno |
def. | Jonathan Coachman & Garrison Cade |
via Pinfall (7:30) |
| Notes: Tajiri pinned Coach. Coach had some moves, but Cade ended up getting misted by Tajiri and then Gored by Rhyno. Coach was thanking his lucky stars that he avoided the mist when Tajiri put a boot to his face. | |||
| Match #2 | |||
| Batista | def. | Chris Jericho | via Pinfall (12:10) |
| Notes: Jericho was helpless before the raw power of Batista. Dave connected with the spinebuster and then planted Y2J with the powerbomb. Jericho had his foot on the ropes, but the referee counted the fall anyway. Batista swept the foot off the rope as the ref got up just to be on the safe side. | |||
| Match #3 - WWE World Tag Team Championship | |||
| "La Resistance" (Sylvan Grenier & Rob Conway) Champions |
def. | Eugene & Ric Flair Challengers |
via DQ (12:29) |
| Notes: Flair was aghast because Eugene was pulling out all the maneuvers from the Ric Flair playbook. But when Naitch got into the match he had to show Eugene how it was really done. Eventually, the French-Canadians went to work on Flair, and when Ric tried to tag Eugene, Grenier smashed Eugene's face into the steps. Eugene went nuts, repeatedly attacking both opponents, and shoved the referee, causing the DQ. | |||
| Match #4 - No Disqualification Match | |||
| Matt Hardy | def. | Kane | via Pinfall (10:35) |
| Notes: Kane was about to bash Matt's face in with the steel steps when Lita had to interject herself. She stood between Matt and Kane, causing Kane to drop the steps. Kane then yelled at Lita in the corner, and then turned around and picked up the steps again. Matt had recovered, and used a steel chair to smack the steps back into Kane's face. | |||
| Match #5 - WWE Intercontinental Championship | |||
| Edge Challenger |
def. | Randy Orton Champion |
via Pinfall (26:36) |
| Notes: -TITLE CHANGE- Edge blows. He threw Randy into a corner with no turnbuckle pad, and that did enough damage to allow the spear. Pretty good match, even with Edge. | |||
| Match #6 | |||
| Victoria | def. | Molly Holly | via Pinfall (6:22) |
| Notes: Victoria became the #1 contender for the Women's Championship. She couldn't connect with the Widow's Peak due to an injured arm, but settled for a big kick to the chops. I miss the whole psycho-bitch gimmick, but Victoria is still quite alluring. | |||
| Match #7 - World Heavyweight Championship | |||
| Chris Benoit Champion |
def. | Triple H Challenger |
via Pinfall (29:04) |
| Notes: Triple H called for Eugene when the referee went down. Eugene caused all sorts of problems, though. He didn't know what to do, help Triple H or help Benoit. Eventually Benoit tried taking a steel chair from Eugene, but when Eugene fought to keep the chair, Benoit let go and Triple H ended up getting nailed with it. Benoit capitalized and rolled up Triple H just as the ref came to. Hunter was pissed, and Eugene was afraid. | |||
