| Matt Striker & Kerwin White w/Nick Nemeth |
def. | Shelton Benjamin & Val Venis |
via Pinfall (2:40) |
| Notes: Striker pinned Benjamin and used the ropes for leverage. | |||
| Match #1 - Inter-Promotional Match | |||
| Rey Mysterio & Matt Hardy |
def. | "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters & Gene Snitsky |
via Pinfall (13:45) |
| Notes: Edge was supposed to team with Masters, and he and Lita even came out with the Masterpiece. But after Hardy and Mysterio were introduced, Edge got on the mic and introduced his replacement, Snitsky. Hardy took out Snitsky and set up Masters so Rey could get in the 619. Hardy then connected with the Twist of Fate and then with the springboard splash, Mysterio pinned Masters. There was a SmackDown referee and a Raw referee in this match, and they just ran around and got in each other's way. | |||
| Match #2 | |||
| Eugene & "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka |
def. | Rob Conway & Tyson Tomko |
via Pinfall (6:13) |
| Notes: Rob Conway is pretty hilarious. That music is priceless. Never was a huge fan of Hacksaw, but I wish he would have won. Seems like Snuka shows up more than any other legend. Snuka pretty much camped out on the apron for the whole match. But he ended up doing his splash from the top rope onto Conway and made the pin. Tomko then attacked him, but Duggan and Kamala ran down and made the save. | |||
| Match #3 | |||
| Mankind | def. | Carlito | via TKO (7:23) |
| Notes: I wish Dude Love would have won, so the Cool Cat could wrestle Caribbean Cool. Oh well. It was nice to hear the old "Ode to Freud" music once again. Mankind finished off Carlito with Mr. Socko, and Mr. Socko had a little fro on his head. I had to check back at how I scored the Mandible Claw finish in the past, since it has been so long. I score it as a TKO, because Carlito didn't tap, and he couldn't verbally quit with a sock in his mouth, so I take that to mean the referee used his discretion and called Carlito out of it. | |||
| Match #4 - WWE World Tag Team Championship | |||
| Kane & The Big Show Challengers |
def. | Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch Champions |
via Pinfall (7:59) |
| Notes: -TITLE CHANGE- Big Show pinned Cade. Big Show and Kane both chokeslammed Cade at the same time. The Cowboys never really stood a chance in this one. After the match was over, Murdoch stumbled back into the ring and got the same. | |||
| Match #5 - Street Fight | |||
| Dave Batista | def. | Jonathan Coachman w/Goldust, Vader |
via Pinfall (4:12) |
| Notes: Batista pinned Coachman. Goldust and Vader involved themselves in the match, in effect making it a handicap match. It didn't matter. Batista worked his way through them in relatively quick fashion. | |||
| Match #6 - WWE Women's Championship - Battle Royal | |||
| Trish Stratus Champion |
def. | Victoria, Ashley Massaro, Candice Michelle, Mickie James, Maria Kanellis Challengers |
(5:27) |
| Notes: Trish/Mickie eliminated Maria, Ashley eliminated Candice, Victoria eliminated Ashley, and then Mickie sacrificed herself to eliminate Victoria. | |||
| Match #7 - WWE Intercontinental Championship - Steel Cage Match | |||
| Ric Flair Champion |
def. | Triple H Challenger |
(23:45) |
| Notes: Match got underway with a lot of punches and reverse knife-edge chops. They were coming fast and furious. And it didn't take long for Naitch to start bleedin'. Trips laid into Flair, and even used the Figure-Four on him. But once Trips began to bleed, Flair got his second wind. The battle picked up, but Flair had to resort to his "grab-a-handful-of-testicles" routine. Hunter eventually went for the Pedigree, but Flair back dropped him onto a steel chair that had been brought in earlier. Three nasty chairshots later, Flair walked out the door. Bloody as all hell, but victorious. Flair received a nice ovation as he left, as did Triple H, for that matter. | |||
| Match #8 - WWE World Heavyweight Championship - Triple Threat Match | |||
| John Cena Champion |
def. | Kurt Angle Shawn Michaels Challengers |
via Pinfall (16:42) |
| Notes: Once again, the crowd had a huge pro-Angle contingent, with chants breaking out on several occasions. Angle and HBK don't like each other, but they were able to put aside their differences long enough to put Cena through the Spanish announce table. Angle was on fire for this match, giving Michaels the Angle Slam from the top rope. By that time, Cena had collected himself and prevented the pin. Cena did his stupid "you can't see me" motion, which was greeted with a chorus of boos. Twice. Crowd went nuts when Angle slapped the anklelock on Cena. Damn HBK had to break that up by dropping the elbow from the top. HBK then gave Kurt Sweet Chin Music, but then Cena gave Michaels the FU and pinned him for the win. After the five Cena fans stopped cheering the result, the arena was pretty quiet. Having Cena in this match with two legitimate wrestlers just made him look out of his league. | |||
