Non-Televised Match (SMDN)
Shannon Moore &
Jimmy Wang Yang
def. Deuce & Domino
w/Cherry
via Pinfall
Notes:

Match #1 (SMDN)
"Nature Boy" Ric Flair def. Montel Vontavious Porter via Submission (7:49)
Notes: Flair started off by saying farewell to the MSG crowd, but MVP cut him short. The ref actually made a three count, but saw that Flair's foot was on the rope and denied MVP the victory. Porter went for the Playmaker, but Naitch countered it into a Figure-Four. An emotional Flair waved to the crowd and said his farwell to MSG. Nice little match.

Match #2 (RAW)
John "Bradshaw" Layfield def. Chris Jericho via DQ (9:18)
Notes: Started off as more of a brawl, but some wrestling eventually happened. Jericho was posted and busted wide open. He was a mess, but fought back. The fight moved outside the ring and while JBL was prepping an announce table for a maneuver, Y2J grabbed a chair and drilled Bradshaw with it, causing the DQ. Jericho then choked out JBL with some cables, just as JBL had done to him on Raw. Crowd liked Jericho's actions.

Match #3 - World Heavyweight Championship (SMDN)
Edge
Champion
w/Vickie Guerrero, Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder
def. Rey Mysterio
Challenger
via Pinfall (12:33)
Notes: Teddy Long wheeled Vickie out and then left. I guess he gets paid for a PPV appearance. Anyway, crowd was really behind Edge, as was I. I don't think I could stand another Mysterio title reign. As for Edge, he went from being paired with Lita to being paired with Vickie. Ouch. Anyway, the two Edgeheads got booted to the back by the ref. I'm surprised Vickie let that happen. Anyway, Rey Rey's knee was really messed up. But he still landed a 619 and a splash, but Vickie grabbed the ref's leg and stopped the count. Vickie got in front of another 619 attempt and took it. When Rey Rey then did his springboard off the ropes, he came down right into a spear by Edge. Hawkins and Ryder came back out and helped cart Vickie out of there.

IN RING: Maria, who is getting more annoying by the minute, came out to do the Kiss Cam. Then Ashley, who gets skankier looking every time I see her, came to the ring as well, and no one really cared. Ashley said Hef wanted to know if Maria would do Playboy. This brought out Santino Marella, who had to put a stop to that. He had some choice words for New York as well. No decision was made regarding Playboy, but Santino brought Big Dick Johnson into the ring. He was wearing part of a Brady jersey, Patriots bikini bottoms and a Patriots logo on his gut. He had some rubber chickens with him, which Ashley used to beat him down and out of the ring. A bizarre segment, but Santino is great.

Match #4 - WWE World Heavyweight Championship (RAW)
Randy Orton
Champion
def. Jeff Hardy
Challenger
via Pinfall (14:06)
Notes: Randy dominated early, but Jeff fought back and was in control when he missed the Twist of Fate, and just that quickly Orton landed the RKO and walked out with his title. The match was good, with some nice spots, like Jeff's moonsault off the top to the outside. The crowd, though, didn't seem that into it. I guess I expected a little bit more as well. The crowd cheered a bit for Jeff at the end, but it seemed a bit stale. Maybe they were just disappointed at the result.

Match #5 - Royal Rumble Match
John Cena def. (See Below) (51:26)
Notes: Darn. The way things started, I knew 'Taker wouldn't win it again. The tunnel in the Garden was set up in a way where you got to see the eliminated guys stumble backstage, something usually off camera. Khali's entrance incited a "you can't wrestle" chant. Dreamer and Noble even had chants for them, but neither Noble nor his chant lasted very long due to Palumbo tossing him relatively quickly. The beads on one of Umaga's braids flew off when Batista knocked him. Shelton came in and had two cool moves before Michaels superkicked him right out. I don't really care for Snuka, but it was awesome when Piper's music hit. Everyone stopped battling and let Piper and Snuka duke it out one last time. I didn't like how 'Taker and HBK were tossed. It wasn't even in cool methods. And instead of taking out his frustrations on Michaels, 'Taker chose instead to attack Snitsky, dropping the leg through the announce table. Even Hornswoggle had an elimination. Miz was over the top rope, propping himself up with his hand on the apron. Hornswoggle who up until this time was hiding under the ring, came out and knocked Miz's hand off, eliminating him. Eventually he was dragged into the ring by Henry, causing Finlay to jump the gun and run into the ring to make the save. He and Hornswoggle left the ring, so Finlay was DQed, and Hornswoggle didn't really compete. Crowd was really shocked when Cena entered, and was hot when it came down to just Cena and Triple H. It was an above-average Rumble before, but Cena's surprising entrance made the ending a lot better.

*Entrants were supposed to come down in 1:30 minute intervals. But for storytelling purposes, they sometimes have to run over/short, depending on what's happening in the ring. Individual times are from when the buzzer went off to the Superstar's feet hitting the floor. Times are approximate, taken from video footage.
