|---|---|---|---|
| Hardcore Holly | def. | Cody Rhodes | via Pinfall |
| Notes: | |||
| IN RING: -TITLE CHANGE- Chairman Vince McMahon and Raw GM William Regal kicked off the show by coming to the ring. Randy Orton joined them when McMahon awarded him the vacant WWE Championship. Triple H then came out as well, and goaded McMahon into giving him a title shot right then and there. | |||
| Match #1 - WWE World Heavyweight Championship (RAW) | |||
| Triple H Challenger |
def. | Randy Orton Champion |
via Pinfall (11:09) |
| Notes: -TITLE CHANGE- Trips won with a schoolboy after dodging a charging Orton, who then hit his head on the ring post. Decent enough of a match, nothing too exciting, but that's understandable considering what they had to do later on. | |||
| Match #2 - Six-Man Tag Team Match (RAW) | |||
| Ken Kennedy Lance Cade Trevor Murdoch |
def. | Jeff Hardy Paul London Brian Kendrick |
via Pinfall (8:06) |
| Notes: The crowd tried to antagonize Kennedy by having a brief "Green Bay sucks" chant. They had also booed Kennedy when he announced his hometown, but Kennedy replied "5-0, baby", much to the crowd's dismay. Damn Bears fans. Murdoch had an awesome move. Kendrick went to bounce off the ropes, but Murdoch stood on the second rope and pulled the top one up, and Kendrick dumped to the outside. Brilliant maneuver. Kennedy pinned London after | |||
| Match #3 - ECW World Heavyweight Championship (ECW) | |||
| CM Punk Champion |
def. | Big Daddy V Challenger w/Matt Striker |
via DQ (1:35) |
| Notes: V was pretty dominant, and when Punk got in his first offense, Striker entered the ring and attacked Punk, causing the DQ. BDV then beat down Punk. Short and not much to this one. | |||
| IN RING: Tazz hosted a Pizza Eating Contest between MVP and Matt Hardy. Melina and Maria were the assistants, and both looked phenomenal (even Maria in her stinkin' Cubs hat). The two men ate a bunch of pizza and Matt won the contest. He felt a little sick and spit up the pizza onto MVP. This was mildly amusing but ran kind of long. | |||
| Match #4 - WWE World Heavyweight Championship (RAW) | |||
| Triple H Champion |
def. | Umaga Challenger |
via Pinfall (6:33) |
| Notes: OK stuff. Triple H scored the Pedigree after Umaga charged and hit the ringpost after Trips moved. Trips had some busted up ribs after this one. | |||
| Match #5 (SMDN) | |||
| Finlay | DRAW | Rey Mysterio | via No Contest (9:00) |
| Notes: These two had a pretty good match going when Finlay got "hurt". He was in kind of a weird position, on the ring apron facing into the ring, with his head between the first and second ropes. He had just dodged a 619 attempt but still took a kick to the head. Rey Rey came off the top rope and dropped the leg onto Finlay, and Finlay fell straight back off the apron and landed on the back of his head. The medical officals came down and put Finlay onto a stretcher, and the crowd chanted his name. But in an instant, Finlay was off the stretcher and attacking the distraught Rey Rey. The masterful Finlay jumped him and laid him out--it was beautiful. | |||
| Match #6 - WWE Women's Championship (RAW) | |||
| Beth Phoenix Challenger |
def. | Candice Michelle Champion |
via Pinfall (4:32) |
| Notes: -TITLE CHANGE- Candice tried her hardest, but Beth was too much for her. Candice didn't really have a chance against the Glamazon. An emotional Beth then went by Lawler and he held a mic for her, and Beth said she was ushering in a new era. | |||
| Match #7 - World Heavyweight Championship - Punjabi Prison Match (SMDN) | |||
| Dave Batista Challenger |
def. | The Great Khali Champion w/Ranjin Singh |
via Escape (14:48) |
| Notes: All four doors on the first cage ended up being locked, forcing the men to climb up and escape it. Khali made it over the first cage and started climbing the second one when Batista recovered inside the ring. He climbed up the inner cage and jumped the gap to the second cage, and then beat Khali to the ground and won the match. Not the greatest, but I was entertained. | |||
| Match #8 - WWE World Heavyweight Championship - Last Man Standing Match (RAW) | |||
| Randy Orton Challenger |
def. | Triple H Champion |
(20:25) |
| Notes: Orton dominated early, pretty much until he went for an RKO on the announce table, but Triple H shoved him off and through one of the tables. Orton took an awesome shot from the steel steps. But not to be outdone, Triple H took a nasty RKO onto a steel chair, that busted him open. Hunter answered that count, and defiantly gave Orton the DX crotch chop. Triple H rebounded and delivered some big offense, but Orton connected out of nowhere with the RKO on top of the announce table. Triple H crawled around, but was down for the ten-count. | |||
