|---|---|---|---|
| Kane | def. | William Regal w/Dave Taylor |
via Pinfall |
| Notes: Regal was pinned after a chokeslam. | |||
| Match #1 (RAW) | |||
| "Nature Boy" Ric Flair | def. | Carlito | via Submission (15:35) |
| Notes: I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed with this one. Aside from the outcome, with the talent involved and the time they were given, I would've thought it would be a lot more exciting. I guess it wasn't terrible, but I was left wanting. Flair got a hell of an ovation, though. | |||
| Match #2 - ECW World Heavyweight Championship - Handicap Match (ECW) | |||
| Bobby Lashley Challenger |
def. | Vince McMahon Champion Shane McMahon Umaga |
via Pinfall (1:16) |
| Notes: Lashley came in and dominated right off the bat, pinning Shane. Lashley held up the title and stared down Vince, but by this time Umaga recovered and laid out Bobby. Vince then got back into the ring and grabbed the title, announcing that since Lashley didn't pin him, Lashley didn't win the title. | |||
| Match #3 (ECW) | |||
| CM Punk | def. | Elijah Burke | via Pinfall (16:51) |
| Notes: Something goofy was going on during this match. A bunch of people at ringside, around the dumbass Sign Guy, started chanting "JBL". Wonder what that was about. I actually enjoyed this a bit more than most ECW matches. Maybe it was because the crowd was into it, throwing their support behind CM Punk. | |||
| Match #4 (RAW) | |||
| Randy Orton | def. | Shawn Michaels | via Ref's Decision (4:32) |
| Notes: Earlier in the evening, Orton jumped Shawn, causing the doctor to say that HBK couldn't compete. But now Orton came down to the ring and demanded that he be declared the winner via forfeit. Before the ref could do so, Shawn's music hit and he came down, walking all punch-drunk. The bout went on for a few minutes until the ref stopped it and declared Orton the winner. Orton then delivered an RKO to Michaels, and then HBK's wife ran into the ring. Michaels was toast and was carted off. | |||
| Match #5 - WWE World Tag Team Championship (RAW) | |||
| "The Hardys" (Matt & Jeff Hardy) Champions |
def. | Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch Challengers |
via Pinfall (15:05) |
| Notes: Damn. My boys couldn't get it done. But it was an great effort by the two teams. Jeff pinned Cade after the Swanton Bomb. A nice match that the crowd also liked. Cade and Murdoch shook hands with the Hardys after the match. What good sports. | |||
| Match #6 - World Heavyweight Championship (SMDN) | |||
| Edge Champion |
def. | Dave Batista Challenger |
via Pinfall (10:38) |
| Notes: Really weak ending. Batista had his leg taped up, and it "gave out" after delivering a spinebuster. He staggered a little bit, and Edge rolled him up for a pin. Not really all that great. | |||
| Match #7 - WWE United States Championship - 2-out-of-3 Falls Match (SMDN) | |||
| Montel Vontavious Porter Challenger |
def. | Chris Benoit Champion |
via 2-0 (14:11) |
| Notes: -TITLE CHANGE- MVP picked up the first fall via pinfall at 8:15. Benoit was going for an Electric Chair but MVP countered it into the Playmaker. There was a 60-second rest period in between falls. MVP rolled up Benoit in a small package to take the second fall. I like the result, since MVP has now arrived. But the match was kind of slow and sloppy. Not what I expected here. | |||
| Match #8 - WWE World Heavyweight Championship (RAW) | |||
| John Cena Champion |
def. | The Great Khali Challenger |
via Submission (8:16) |
| Notes: They kept this short, which was probably a good idea. But it was a good match. Cena helped make Khali look good, and it was fun to watch. Cena won with the STFU after dropping leg on Khali's head from the top rope. And after the match Cena was able to recover his title belt. | |||
