| Match #1 - ECW Championship - Championship Scramble Match (ECW) | |||
| Tommy Dreamer Champion |
def. | Jack Swagger Christian Finlay Mark Henry w/Tony Atlas Challengers |
via Pinfall (14:47) |
| Notes: Ah, a scramble match. I hate these. Christian and Swagger started. At 3:00 Finlay entered, and I really wish he'd use his old music. Swagger pinned Finlay at 4:44. At 6:05 Dreamer entered, generic t-shirt/music and all. At 8:13 Finlay pinned Swagger. Henry was the last one in at 9:25. Henry pinned Dreamer at 10:28. Swagger was the man to beat again by pinning Henry at 12:20. Dreamer pinned Christian at 13:27, and then everyone sort of fumbled around at the end until the time expired. Sheesh, doing these is a pain in the butt to begin with, let alone for an ECW match. | |||
| Match #2 - WWE Intercontinental Championship (SMDN) | |||
| Rey Myterio Challenger |
def. | Chris Jericho Champion |
via Pinfall (15:42) |
| Notes: -TITLE CHANGE- Another clinic put on by these two. The replay montage at the end of the match was great. Rey tried a baseball slide that Jericho countered by swinging Rey like a baseball bat into the security wall. I have to give Rey credit too. He did this double-springboard thing that was awesome. At the end Jericho tore off Rey's mask, only to find out that Rey had another one on underneath. The surprise let Rey connect with the 619 and it was over. Sweet match. | |||
| Match #3 - No Countout, No Disqualification Match (SMDN) | |||
| Dolph Ziggler | def. | The Great Khali w/Ranjin Singh |
via Pinfall (5:01) |
| Notes: Yeah, Kane laid out Khali with a steel chair. That was the only way Ziggler was going to win this. Kane really delivered some shots. The announcers were shocked, even though Kane does this all the time. | |||
| Match #4 - WWE Unified Tag Team Championship - Triple Threat Match (INTER) | |||
| Edge & Chris Jericho (SMDN) Challengers |
def. | Carlito & Primo Colon (RAW) Champions "The Legacy" (RAW) (Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes) Challengers |
via Pinfall (9:39) |
| Notes: -TITLE CHANGE- Teddy Long made this a Triple Threat match just before, since Vince McMahon met with him in the prior segment, saying Teddy was still on probation. Earlier in the night Edge complained to Teddy about not being on the card and Jericho complained to Teddy about the way he lost to Mysterio. So Teddy threw in Edge & Jericho. The other two teams were not pleased, and for most of the match they fought and ignored the interlopers. Edge tagged in briefly, but missed a spear and was tagged out. Edge tagged himself in and Carlito was surprised when the referee didn't count his pin on Rhodes. He learned a bit too late that Edge was the legal man and turned around into a spear. Edge pinned Carlito and Jericho was never even in the match. Which was fine because he was probably spent after his prior bout. | |||
| Match #5 - WWE Women's Championship (SMDN) | |||
| Michelle McCool Challenger w/Alicia Fox |
def. | Melina Champion |
via Pinfall (6:35) |
| Notes: -TITLE CHANGE- Decent match. Michelle was on and took it to Melina, finishing her off with the Faith Breaker. I can't imagine what it would be like to have been one of her students and to see her now. | |||
| Match #6 - World Heavyweight Championship (SMDN) | |||
| Jeff Hardy Challenger |
def. | CM Punk Champion |
via DQ (14:53) |
| Notes: OK match for the most part. Jeff actually got a three count in at 12:45 and the bell even rang, but the referee immediately saw Punk's foot under the bottom rope and waved off the finish. Jeff was upset and went after Punk's eye, the same one he had damaged earlier in the match. The referee had to check the eye and after doing so, Punk kicked him in the back, causing the DQ. Was it intentional or not...that was the question. It was clear in Hardy's eyes, as he jumped Punk on the entryway and fought with him back in the ring until more referees intervened. | |||
| Match #7 (RAW) | |||
| John Cena | def. | Mike "Miz" Mizanin | via Submission (5:40) |
| Notes: Well this was kind of a joke. All that build, making Miz look strong and they just blow it off like this. What a waste. | |||
| Match #8 - WWE World Heavyweight Championship - Three Stages of Hell Match (RAW) | |||
| Randy Orton Champion |
def. | Triple H Challenger |
via 2-1 (21:22) |
| Notes: Randy Orton won the first stage (traditional match) by DQ at 4:51 when Triple H repeatedly beat Orton with a chair. That beating allowed Triple H to immediately win the second stage (falls count anywhere) via pinfall after a Pedigree outside the ring at 5:18. The third stage was a stretcher match, which Orton won with the help of Legacy. They attacked and prevented Triple H from pushing the stretcher past the line. Triple H had a sledge hidden under a panel of steel grating up on the stage, and used it on Legacy, but Randy hit him with the steel panel and Trips fell right on the stretcher. Randy had to push it only a few feet to win. | |||
