| Match #1 - Inferno Match | |||
| Kane | def. | Montel Vontavious Porter | (8:14) |
| Notes: Nothing too spectacular, but entertaining enough. Kane ended up choking MVP and pushing him back into the fire. So MVP's ass lit up, and he ran off and fell over, allowing the officials to put the fire out. Crowd seemed pleased enough with the match. Kane looked even creepier sneering in the flames. | |||
| Match #2 - WWE Tag Team Championship - Ladder Match | |||
| Paul London & Brian Kendrick Champions |
def. | "The Hardys" (Matt & Jeff Hardy) "MNM" (Joey Mercury & Johnny Nitro) w/Melina William Regal & Dave Taylor Challengers |
(20:12) |
| Notes: Well, a surprise ladder match with two surprise teams. Crowd went nuts when MNM and the Hardys were announced as the surprises. Regal and Taylor tried keeping the ladders out of the ring. I guess you could say they were out of their element here. The sickest part of the match was when Jeff came off the top rope onto one side of a ladder, and the other end shot up like a seesaw and hit Nitro and Mercury in the face. Matt Hardy was holding their heads in position, and Mercury got the worst of it. His eye was swollen shut in seconds, and blood oozed out everywhere. He did not return. Regal and Taylor actually had a shot to win it, but both men were afraid of heights. Awesome match, though. Everyone really busted their asses on this one. | |||
| Match #3 | |||
| The Boogeyman | def. | Mike "Miz" Mizanin | via Pinfall (2:51) |
| Notes: Who do you root for in this one? I hate both these guys. I think I'm going for the Boogeyman. At least he doesn't get on the mic and scream his stupid-assed catchphrase. JBL had some good lines during the match. For example, during Miz's 45 seconds of offense, that if Miz managed to defeat Boogeyman, it would be a huge upset. JBL responded "Miz being in a wrestling ring is a huge upset. It's upsetting me and that's huge." Neither one of these guys can wrestle, so you can imagine how bad this was. Worst match on the card, and I haven't even watched all of it yet. | |||
| Match #4 - WWE United States Championship | |||
| Chris Benoit Champion |
def. | Chavo Guerrero Challenger w/Vickie Guerrero |
via Submission (12:15) |
| Notes: Geez...Benoit should be main eventing, and here he is stuck in this lame feud with "Oooooooo" Chavo. At least it isn't as blatantly offensive as the Chavo-Mysterio feud. I guess the match wasn't terrible. Benoit did give Chavo 8 German Suplexes in a row. Benoit had Chavo in the Sharpshooter when Vickie got into the ring with the title belt. Benoit teased putting her in the Sharpshooter, but Chavo stopped him. The Sharpshooter was applied again, and Chavo tapped out. | |||
| Match #5 - WWE Cruiserweight Championship | |||
| Gregory Helms Champion |
def. | Jimmy Wang Yang Challenger |
via Pinfall (10:52) |
| Notes: I don't know why, but I dig Helms' work. I even kinda like his music, and it even though it starts with talking. That's not easy to pull off. I'm not talking about theme music with lyrics as part of the song, that's all fine. But if part of the entrance music is someone talking, and THEN the actual music starts...I hate that. For example, how they had to stick the "Woooo!" in front of Ric Flair's actual theme music. WTF? Did they do that to differentiate it from the WCW days? Whatever. I digress. OK match. Yang missed a corkscrew moonsault, and Helms followed it up with a facebuster to his shin. | |||
| Match #6 - Last Ride Match | |||
| The Undertaker | def. | Ken Kennedy | (19:07) |
| Notes: At one point Kennedy put the sleeper on Undertaker and threw him in the back of the hearse. When Kennedy got to the front of the hearse, the Undertaker was waiting for him. The two also climbed up the structure that was part of the set. They exchanged blows, but Kennedy ended up tossing Undertaker off the platform to the ground below. Kennedy tossed him into the hearse and got in the driver's seat. But due to a nice camera angle, we saw Undertaker sit up in the back and pull Kennedy back there with him. From here Kennedy was on the receiving end of a beatdown. He ended up getting chokeslammed and Tombstoned on top of the hearse. | |||
| IN RING: Santa Claus came to the ring to host the "Naughty or Nice Lingerie Contest". The contestants were Kristal Marshall, Layla El, Jillian Hall, and Ashley Massaro. Santa declared that the winner was... everyone. Yay. Then, to top it all off, Santa stripped off his clothes and it was Big Dick Johnson. | |||
| Match #7 | |||
| John Cena & Dave Batista | def. | King Booker & Finlay w/Queen Sharmell |
via Pinfall (11:25) |
| Notes: Little Bastard did his run in, but kicked himself in the head. Match itself seemed kind of short. Finlay took out Cena, and Batista kicked the chair Finlay was holding into his face, leaving just him and Booker. Booker was on the receiving end of the Batista Bomb, and Batista pinned Booker to win. | |||
