This publication began under the name "WWF Victory Magazine." After two issues the title changed to "WWF Magazine",
which was published every other month until 1987 when the series became monthly. In 2002, when the WWF changed its
name to WWE, the magazine title changed accordingly. At the end of 2003, the title became "SmackDown! Magazine", which
served to counter "RAW Magazine" and further the brand extension. This lasted until the July 2006 issue, when the
title ceased publication after 24 years. The title was cancelled along with Raw Magazine to make way for the brand-new
version of WWE Magazine.
